Mrs. Wild Bill Anyone?

15 09 2010

I just want to start out by saying CONGRATS to the women’s volleyball team. They beat BYU last night and have improved to 10 and 0 on the season. So proud of our women! Good job on going to BYU and beating them. They will be playing in the Gossner’s Invitational this weekend starting Friday at 10 am. Please go support our women and let them know we are proud of what they have done this year and that WE BELIEVE THAT THEY WILL WIN, WE BELIEVE THAT THEY WILL WIN, WE BELIEVE THAT THEY WILL WIN!!!!

Staying on the subject of Aggie athletics make sure you are able to go to the football game this week. We’re playing Fresno State (possibly last time we will play them here). It is a big game for us. We need this win and most of all we need to support our boys.  As far as the students go we had almost a capacity crowd for student tickets, the Aggie Stampede was so amazing. We had probably 500 students marching through campus getting loud and crazy! If you want to join us this week we will be meeting at the LLC at 3 pm on Saturday. We need more of the people from the valley. The team is good this year and will be a great team to watch. We might as well support them. Make sure you go to the BYU game. I remember going to the game when I was a small child and we beat BYU! The students rushed the field and ripped down the goal posts. We haven’t exactly had too many reasons to be ripping down goal posts in the recent past but I know we will this year!

Well my friends it s time for me to say goodbye but one last thing, don’t take facebook as gospel. I changed my relationship status yesterday to “engaged”. I have had a lot of calls and texts. It’s not true. I am still just me. But if any of you are interested in being Mrs. Wild Bill just hit me up.

Aloha

It’s a DOUBLE RAINBOW!

30 08 2010

Well to say the least I’ve had some spare time on my hands the past couple weeks.  I’ve had more time to hang out with friends.  The other day my friend Josh gave me a call asking if I would fly to St. Louis and drive home with him, I said sure why not (I have nothing else to do).  So a few days later I was on a flight headed to St. Louis.

I got in late on a Tuesday night, so first thing Wednesday morning we went to check out the Gateway Arch and see the Cardinals stadium before heading home.  That arch in St. Louis is huge and if you ever get the chance to see it, you should.  I was able to see the Ram’s stadium, the Cardinal’s stadium and the Gateway Arch all in one day.

Our journey through Missouri was b-e-a-utiful.  There were a ton of trees and big rivers that we got to see driving through.  Eventually we made it to Kansas City where I was able to see the Chiefs and Royals stadiums.  Man, they are huge!  We made our way through Missouri, then Iowa and into Nebraska and I stayed awake the whole time! If you have ever been in a car with me longer than about 15 minutes you know that staying awake is no easy task.  It’s a good thing I had a great friend and such great scenery to keep me entertained.  We turned in for the night in a tiny town in Nebraska.

Bright and early the next morning we made our way to the Cabella’s headquarters on the boarder of Wyoming.  We only spent an hour there, but I swear that has to be some kind of record.  Once we made it to Wyoming I realized it isn’t the most beautiful place when you are just traveling down I-80 but we got to stop in Lyman to see some good friends the Weights.  Aunty made me some butter mochi and if you don’t know what that is find a Hawaiian and ask them to make it for you.  Shortly after we left Lyman I saw a double complete rainbow ! It was amazing.  I almost broke down and sobbed.

All in all it was a great trip and I was able to see some awesome places in a short amount of time.  Thanks to Josh and his family for thinking of me to go with him.

Even though I won’t be enrolled in school this semester I will still be involved with everything so watch for me! Also I have an event coming up that you aren’t going to want to miss!

Here Fishy Fishy Fishy …

25 08 2010

Fish located on the left side of this picture may appear smaller than actual size

While I was in the hospital I had a LOT of time to think.  I thought about how much I loved to fish and how I had been wanting to go in the months that led up to my hospital visit but I had always been too sick with no energy to go.

As I sat in my hospital room I thought how close I had come to never being able to fish again and I made myself a promise.  I promised myself that as soon as I got out of the hospital I would start fishing more and until school and work started I would fish at least twice a week.  Well I want you to know, I kept that promise!  I have been fishing just about every day and I have caught some pretty big fish (Just ask – I have stories).  If you ever need a fishing partner, you know who to ask.  I’m not a fly fisher yet but I hope I learn soon.  So far I’ve been spinning on the rivers but I think it’s just my amazing talent that gets me all the fish.

Sign Language in the ER: Update on my summer

23 08 2010

Well it’s been a crazy summer for me.  As I am sure you have heard — I have had an interesting past couple months.   Between everything that was keeping me busy like the Aggie basketball games, my trip to ESPN, and filming Thrillbillies I was having a blast but never would have guessed that my body was shutting down.

I won’t bore you with all of the medical mumbo jumbo but in a nutshell what happened is I have an enlarged heart.  That by itself isn’t a walk in the park but on top of that I had a blood clot in each ventricle and in my lungs, my liver was shutting down, and my kidneys were ready to go as well.  To say the least I was not doing my best.  Being a little bit of the stubborn guy that I am I decided not to go to the hospital but finally my dear mother dragged me to Instacare to see what was wrong.  Our first instinct was that it was pneumonia but it turned out that just wasn’t the case.  After hearing the doctor’s instructions and losing an argument with my mom I finally ended up in the Emergency Room.  Once I arrived it was immediately decided that I should be flown to Salt Lake City to the IMC hospital.

After a long week under heavy sedation in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, I was removed from life support and was able to see my family.  I don’t remember a thing from that week but have been told about my crazy antics.  Turns out, I know sign language (and I’m not talking about the middle finger).  I guess I was using sign language to communicate with people and one doctor though I might be deaf … who knew I could sign?

I spent just under a month in the hospital and I can’t say it was my favorite but I really appreciate everything that the doctors and nurses did for me.  I had so much love and support from my family and friends.  I have always known my family was close and that we support each other but this proved to me and everyone else how much love one family can have.  There wasn’t a minute that went by that my mom or sisters weren’t watching over me.  Everyone’s plans for June definitely didn’t go as planned but I really love them for hanging out with me.

To everyone who sent cards, letters, email or just your thoughts and prayers I sincerely thank you.  You all have been so good to me; I could not believe how much mail I received.  My walls were completely covered in cards and drawings.  Thank you so much for your support, it really meant a lot to both me and my family.  I don’t know if my mom and sisters could have made it without all of you.

I am an Aggie fan to the core and I made sure everyone in the hospital knew it.  It was extremely important that none of my nurses were fans of BYU.  It did make for some interesting times and my nurses would plan pranks on me by putting BYU stuff in my room to see if I would notice.  The Wednesday after I was released from ICU I was on my regular floor talking with my sister and a friend when I noticed my vision was going out, I asked my sister to get the nurse then I passed out.  My heart stopped and I had no pulse for seven minutes.  After a few minutes of CPR, right before they were about to hit me with the defibrillator I woke up and the first thing out of my mouth was, “there better not be any BYU fans in here, if so I think I’d rather die!”  That gave the doctors and nurses a little shock.  I really don’t hate BYU I just don’t think they should be allowed to breathe the same air as the rest of us.

I have been getting lots of questions about whether or not I’ll be at Aggie sporting events this year, HECK YA!  Even if I have to be wheeled out in a wheel chair, I will be there.  I had a month to sit in the hospital and do nothing but think of new costumes – I can’t let those go to waste.  Look for me this year at some of the football games, I have put a few things together with the school.  “I believe” it will be a good year even though we will be losing some teams from the WAC.  I am not worried, the WAC has something MWC will never have … ME!

I love you all and thanks again for all of your support.

Update on Bill’s Condition

17 06 2010

After pneumonia like symptoms Friday June 11 Bill Sproat went to Logan Regional Hospital where in the Emergency Room it was determined that he was in need of critical care for his heart.  Life flight flew Bill to a Salt Lake City hospital where he is currently being cared for.

It has since been determined that bill has a diagnosis of idiopathic cardiomyopathy which essentially means that his heart is enlarged.  The cause of his enlarged heart is unknown at this time and further testing will be performed.  The current theory is that it was caused by a virus.

Currently Bill is in critically stable condition and will remain there for quite some time.  His healing process is going to be a long one that will span over several months.  Bill’s family wants all of Bills fans and friends to know they appreciate all of the love and support they have received thus far. To stay updated on Bill’s condition you can check this blog daily at http://www.wildbillsproat.com, his Wild Bill facebook page or the Prayers for Wild Bill group on facebook.

“Thrillbillies” + Wild Bill = Limping around for a week

11 04 2010

It has been a while since I have had time to post a good one on here so I wanted to catch you up a little bit.  I tried for glory and failed at the Fox’s Den Pizza challenge and just after I failed, a team of one girl and one guy took down the pizza.  I couldn’t believe that anyone was able to eat it but they did.  I am extremely happy for them and I really just don’t know if I have what it takes to down that pizza.

As for me … I am on to bigger and better things.  I am just trying to finish out this semester and keep on top of my grades.  The day before I left for my big trip to the WAC tourney I was contacted by Godfrey EntertainmentThey asked me if I would be interested in dropping by their studio to see if I would work out being part of their new show, “Thrillbillies.”  For those of you who don’t know Godfrey Entertainment is the company that produces the show Nitro Circus on MTV with Travis Pastrana.  So we set up a meeting and I was able to go meet the owners and producers of the new show.  They seemed to be really cool and really chill, just the way I like it.  They seemed to like me and told me that we would begin filming in April.  Well this last weekend was the first weekend of shooting and I had a really good time. We started shooting Friday morning at 9 AM at the point of the mountain, great times.  We played with some big kites that would take us in the air and throw us around a bit.  I’ll try to give you as much information as I can without spoiling the show.

We wrapped up Friday at the man expo in Salt Lake City playing around with Skid Row.  It was fun to see those guys still out performing and doing what they love.  Saturday we went back to the man expo.  Just to tease you a little bit, some of the stuff we did included spray tanning me, riding a mechanical bull, and jumping off a 20 foot lift into three feet of water.  It was great.  The producers and talent on the show were extremely welcoming and friendly to me. They kept telling me I can back out of any stunt and I don’t have to do anything I am not comfortable with.  Good thing for me I am comfortable with just about anything.  However, the jump into three feet of water was not my best idea and I think I will be limping around for the next few days.

Filming will continue this week, and on Wednesday Travis Pastrana will be in town so I will get to chill with him.  I am excited for this show and I will keep you updated and let you know how I am doing.  If I can, I will get an interview with Travis.

Aloha,

Wild Bill
